BITRI will be amongst the exhibitors at the Science Technology and Innovation Week 2016 to be held from 15th – 19th August, 2016 in Palapye. The Ministry of Infrastructure, Science and Technology through the Department of Research Science and Technology host the STI Week. August has been declared an STI Month and the Minister of Infrastructure, Science and Technology Mr Nonofo Molefhi will be the Guest of Honour at the official opening ceremony of the STI Week.
The objective of the STI Week is to increase public understanding and appreciation of the importance of Science, Technology and Innovation in our daily lives as well as to stimulate interest in science-based subjects at primary and secondary schools levels. STI Week also aims to expose the public to scientific and technological advances and to showcase Research and Development (R&D) products with a view of exposing commercialization potential to entrepreneurs.
The STI week will feature other interesting activities such as science education career fair, seminars and lectures, pupils competitions, launch of the 2-dish interferometer and computer laboratory along with a STEM festival as well as stargazing.
