Honourable Nonofo Molefhi has been appointed the Minister of Infrastructure, Science and Technology. Mr. Molefhi who is Member of Parliament for Selibe Phikwe East previously held the position of Minister of Transport and Communications, and that of Minister of Lands & Housing before. The portfolio was under Mr. Johnnie Swartz from 2009 to 2014.

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Science and Technology (MIST) whose Mandate is to deliver quality building infrastructure, promote socio-economic oriented technological research, and the safe application of nuclear technology, in partnership with its stakeholders to enhance economic diversification and efficiency has under its ambit various Departments and two parastatals, being Botswana Institute of Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI) and Botswana Innovation Hub (BIH).
