Kediemetse Mothibedi is an analytical chemist and she works as a junior researcher in the department of natural resources and materials. She is a member of the filtration team which focuses on research and innovation of filtration technologies for water and air purification employing nanotechnology. Previously Ms Kediemetse worked for Ministry of Agriculture under department of veterinary services. Her job entailed routine analysis of veterinary drugs, hormones and environmental contaminants on beef and other animal products for the purposes of exporting beef to EU countries. She also worked as an internal auditor to evaluate the compliance of the laboratory to the iso 17025 standard resulting in accreditation of test methods by South African National Accreditation System (SANAS). Ms Mothibedi has experience in developing new test methods and their validation. Her Msc research focused on a study of electrospun nanofibers and diatomaceous earth materials for the extraction of alkaloids, flavonoids and aromatic amines in various matrices.
