As an Associate Researcher – Electronics & Communications, Matthews currently conducts research and development of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) using low power wide area networks (ZigBee, Lora WAN, and SigFox), TV White Space (TVWS) and design of multimedia electronic projects.

Matthews completed his Masters in Electronics Telecommunications and Internet Engineering at University of Bradford. Through his Masters, he was involved in the following projects: Modelling IMT-Advanced technologies focused more on WiMAX release 2 and comparing it with LTE; and design of a wireless electronic car charger. He previously held the position of Service Management Engineer at Orange Botswana.
