The newly-appointed Minister of Infrastructure, Science and Technology, Mr. Nonofo Molefhi paid a courtesy visit to the Board of Directors and Management teams of Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI) and Botswana Innovation Hub (BIH) on Wednesday 26 November 2014. Addressing the meeting at the BITRI Boardroom, Minister Molefhi laid down the ground work for steering both parastatals towards the achievement of their respective mandates and promised to advocate for their needs at various platforms including Cabinet, the National Assembly and with other potential partner organisations.

The Minster communicated that it is his vision is to work leadership teams of both organisations to develop BITRI and BIH to meet the needs of Batswana, and encouraged collaboration between the two organisations and others and as well as co-creation of solutions. The BITRI Board Chairperson, Professor Otlogetswe Totolo and the BIH Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Alan Boshwaen both acknowledged and expressed gratitude towards the Minister’s gesture and assured the Minister of their intent to advance the mandates of both BITRI and BIH, citing some initiatives aimed at soliciting input from stakeholders as evidence of their commitment to creating robust and relevant organisations.
