Business Botswana is thrilled to introduce our esteemed guest speaker for the 50th Annual General Meeting of Business Botswana, Professor Shedden Masupe.
Professor Masupe, a distinguished scholar and leader, holds an impressive array of academic qualifications, including a BSc in Mathematics and Physics from Mt Allison University, a BScEng in Electrical Communications and Fields from the University of New Brunswick, an MSc in Digital Systems from Cardiff University, and a PhD in Electronics Engineering with a focus on Computer Vision from Edinburgh University.
Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at the Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI), Professor Masupe has had a remarkable career in both academia and industry. He was previously a Full Professor of Computer Engineering at BIUST and an Associate Professor of Digital Systems and Computer Engineering at the University of Botswana. His research interests span across Computer Systems, Microprocessor Architectures, Low Power VLSI Design, and Smart ICT Solutions for Development.
With a wealth of experience, Professor Masupe has contributed extensively as an ICT consultant while excelling in various academic and administrative roles. His vast knowledge and leadership in technology and innovation make him a fitting speaker for our AGM as we reflect on “empowering business excellence”.
PUBLIC INVITATION TO BITRI PUBLIC SEMINAR
The Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI) wishes to invite you to the next BITRI Seminar. The topic of the Seminar is “The potential development of sustainable biogas industry in Botswana: A research perspective” and will be delivered by Dr. Vincent Okudoh, a Senior Lecturer in Biotechnology at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in Cape Town. He is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society for top academic achievers and currently has his own Waste2Energy Laboratory. He has also published a book titled “Biogas Production in Africa: Benefit Potentials of Cassava Biomass”
This seminar is part of the quarterly series of public seminars that BITRI hosts to share and exchange ideas on topical research themes of relevance to Botswana and BITRI.

PUBLIC INVITATION TO A SEMINAR IN COMMEMORATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL WORLD WATER DAY
You are cordially invited to be part of this seminar hosted by Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI), in commemoration of the International World Water Day on the 22nd March 2017 at Avani Hotel in Gaborone at 5:30 pm.
The theme for this year’s International World Water Day is Waste Water.
The guest speaker at the seminar is Professor Benjamin S. Hsiao, a Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Co-founding Director of Innovative Global Energy Solutions Center. He is also the Director of Center for Advanced Technology in Integrated Electric Energy Systems at Stony Brook University.
His seminar topic is “Learning how to use agricultural wastes to treat waste water through nanotechnology.”
