PUBLIC INVITATION TO BITRI PUBLIC SEMINAR

The Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI) wishes to invite you to the next BITRI Seminar. The topic of the Seminar is The potential development of sustainable biogas industry in Botswana: A research perspective and will be delivered by Dr. Vincent Okudoh, a Senior Lecturer in Biotechnology at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in Cape Town. He is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society for top academic achievers and currently has his own Waste2Energy Laboratory. He has also published a book titled Biogas Production in Africa: Benefit Potentials of Cassava Biomass

This seminar is part of the quarterly series of public seminars that BITRI hosts to share and exchange ideas on topical research themes of relevance to Botswana and BITRI.

The Seminar will be held on Tuesday 24th September 2019 at Avani Hotel & Casino, Gaborone at 1730hrs.

PUBLIC INVITATION TO A SEMINAR IN COMMEMORATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL WORLD WATER DAY

You are cordially invited to be part of this seminar hosted by Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI), in commemoration of the International World Water Day on the 22nd March 2017 at Avani Hotel in Gaborone at 5:30 pm.

The theme for this year’s International World Water Day is Waste Water.

The guest speaker at the seminar is Professor Benjamin S. Hsiao, a Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Co-founding Director of Innovative Global Energy Solutions Center. He is also the Director of Center for Advanced Technology in Integrated Electric Energy Systems at Stony Brook University.

His seminar topic is “Learning how to use agricultural wastes to treat waste water through nanotechnology.”

The guest speaker will be Professor Seeram Ramakrishna, Director, Center for Nanofibers & Nanotechnology and Leader of Future of Manufacturing at the National University of Singapore. Professor Ramakrishna is among the World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds and is a Highly Cited Researcher in Materials Science. His seminar topic is “Nanofibers and Nanomaterials-Emerging Opportunities.”
